As the US embraces for 100+ degrees F temperature this week, it is important to remember to keep your dogs hydrated. Free access to fresh, clean water is imperative. The Hugs Hydro Fetch Dog Toy can also help as its water-absorbent core will gradually release liquid as your dog puts it in his mouth and squeezes or chomps down on it.
It’s that time of season again! Summer is here. Hot and humid weather can play havoc on your dog’s system, and we all want to keep our dogs safe and do what is best for them.
Heat exhaustion is no laughing matter, and a dog’s cooling system is incredibly inefficient. Dogs cannot sweat through their skin like humans. Dogs only have sweat glands on the pads of their feet, and they cool themselves mostly by panting. As the weather heats up, it is imperative that your dog can cool itself quickly. Dogs are particularly prone to heat exhaustion, and it can be fatal.
The Hugs Chilly Mats are cooling beds for dogs, to keep your dog from getting too warm when outdoors, when traveling, or just for everyday use! In the warm weather, our dogs like to go outdoors with us. We are out on the patio or deck having a cook-out, and the dog wants to join us in the fun. Having a Chilly Mat nearby will give your dogs a place to cool down.
Other ways to keep your dog is cool is to avoid strenuous exercise during the day, especially if you have a brachycephalic dog. During the heat of the afternoon, it’s a good time to let them chill out on their Chilly Mat! Walk and exercise your dog in the morning and evening, after the sun has gone down. Position the Chilly Mat in a shady spot on your patio, or under a shade tree in your yard. You can also put the chilly mat on top of an existing bed, or a Cool Cot for additional protection from the heat.
The durable, puncture resistant material in the Hugs Chilly Mat is soft to the touch and comfortable for your pet. They are easy to roll up for easy storage, and they are portable for when you travel and want to take your dog. They can be used indoors and outdoors. They are also easy to clean up, so don’t hesitate to use the Chilly Mat on road trips with your dog.
The Hugs Chilly Mat comes in 5 sizes, so there is a size that fits all breeds of dogs. Even the Boerboels love it! It’s nice to see them enjoy a cooling bed rather than digging a hole in the ground to stay cool when we are out.

These are selling like crazy in our store, and with good reason! The weather in many parts of the country have turned bitter cold. We haven’t been above freezing in the Pittsburgh, PA area for over a week.
These shoes are cute as the dickens and make me wish I had a smaller dog I could pamper! They are lined with a faux sheepskin type fur inside, and a faux leather outer. The velcro straps help to keep them on. If your neighborhood uses salt on the sidewalks to melt the ice, these will also help to prevent salt irritating your dog’s sensitive paws.
How to Measure Your Dog’s Paw for Hugs Pugz Shoes for Dogs:

Place a piece of paper under a front paw. Mark the paper at the paw’s widest point on the left and right side of the paw.
